Story of the Month Guidelines

Keeping with our commitment to artistic creativity and expression, From the Well House has begun a “Story of the Month,” which will be featured on the website. Here, we invite readers to examine the story-base provided each month and add continuously to the narrative. The story created will be an original production by our fans, contributors and readers. The story will conclude each month, and at the end of the year, the best narrative produced will be featured in an issue of From the Well House. This is an excellent chance for aspiring writers to contribute to a publication as well as challenge and exercise their skill in writing. From the Well House invites all of our visitors to the website to contribute to the “Story of the Month” in any way possible, whether it be a written submission, illustrations or music inspired by the story, or even film. From the Well House will accept all artistic contributions to the Story of the Month,” provided the contributor abides by a few guidelines:

From the Well House reserves the right to delete any content posted that does not agree with our mission and vision.

• Posted content needs to be limited to no more than 500 words.

• Any content posted or submitted that does not reasonably follow the narrative of the “Story of the Month” will be removed. As long as posted content follows the narrative in a conceivably believable fashion, the contributor has complete creative freedom within the story.

• Racial slurs or “hate language” will not be permitted to be posted. Any posted content containing racially offensive language will be promptly removed.

• Any overt hatred or language designed to degrade a single person or a group of people will not be tolerated and any posted content containing such, will be removed.

• Contributors will be required to submit their name and email address in order to post content. This is partially a regulatory aid, but also serves the purpose of crediting those who posted.

• By posting to/contributing to/participating with/ the Story of the Month, Contributors to the Story of the Month recognize, understand, and agree that all  accepted creative content becomes the property of From The Well House and may be utilized accordingly to further the development of the website and/or organization. Contributors relinquish all rights of intellectual property of any posted submission with the understanding that, should their content be utilized, due and appropriate credit will be given to the original author of said posted submissions. This agreement extends to, but is not limited to, use of creative content/property on fromthewellhouse.org as well as use of creative content/property in printed issues of From The Well House

Following these guidelines will ensure a safe and fun medium in which visitors to the site can exercise their creative potential. As long as the guidelines are followed, all posted content and contributions will be accepted, granting you, the contributor, full creative freedom over the narrative.
